Bec Monique is a Melbourne-based abstract artist creating intuitive, expressive works guided by feeling, movement, and instinct.

Her love of painting began in early childhood. As a young child, Bec moved quite frequently, and art became a constant — a source of stability and grounding when words could not fully express her feelings. Creating allowed her to stay anchored, offering a quiet language of colour, texture, and mark-making when everything else was shifting.

She has spent her life pursuing creative outlets, and expressing herself through artistic endeavours has always felt essential. Art is her happy place — a space where, when the noise from the outside world is too loud, she can retreat inward and be fully present.

Bec works primarily across mixed mediums, most often using acrylic paint, oil sticks, and ink. She is drawn to quirkiness, bold gestures, and vivid colour, with a particular love for blue.

For Bec, painting is like poetry. It weaves a story through colour, fast brushstrokes, texture, and instinct. Art has always been her preferred language — when she paints, the world falls away and she becomes absorbed in colour and form.

She hopes you can lose yourself in her artwork too.
